    In searching for the source for this quote, I came across your wonderful blog. Unfortunately, my source for the quote and yours was probably the same, Jacob Needleman. So far, the only web source for the quote that I’ve found is your blog. If you have more information about its origin, I’d love to know. At any rate, I’ll enjoy checking your blog from time to time.       Yes, I encountered it in Needleman’s book as well (which I should cite–thanks for reminder), where it’s only referred to as a rabbinic saying. Guess you’ll have to ask Needleman himself. Thanks for the comment and good luck with the search!
